What makes this piece exceptional is the "wood-on-wood" technique: the entire image is created by meticulously hand-cutting and fitting hundreds of tiny fragments from different species of wood—including teak, rosewood, ebony, and sandalwood—to achieve the realistic textures of the lions' fur, manes, and the surrounding wilderness.

No paint or artificial pigments are used to create the central image; instead, the natural variations in wood grain and color provide the depth, shadow, and life-like quality of the scene. The central artwork is set against a massive, dark Rosewood background and encased in a bespoke, tiered Rosewood frame. This is a sophisticated statement piece designed for an executive office, a lodge-style living room, or a private gallery, bridging the gap between traditional craft and contemporary wildlife art.

  • Maintenance: To preserve the precision of the inlay, dust regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Every 12–18 months, apply a very light coat of high-quality furniture wax specifically for fine hardwoods to maintain the luster.

  • Environment: Keep in a stable, climate-controlled environment. Avoid direct sunlight or high-intensity spotlights, which can cause the natural wood colors to fade or shift over time.

Care Instructions

Clean only with a soft, dry cloth to maintain the natural shine. Avoid water, harsh chemicals, or detergents, as these can damage the brass finish.

Brass is a natural metal and may tarnish or darken slightly over time when exposed to air and moisture - this is a normal characteristic of brass and not a manufacturing defect. To restore shine, use a brass polish or a mild solution of lemon and salt, gently rub with a soft cloth, then wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity to help prevent tarnishing.
