This handsomely aged Buddha statue carries a deep antique bronze finish, its two-tone patina of dark umber and warm gold catching the light across every carved surface. Cast in brass, the figure sits in padmasana with the right hand raised in vitarka mudra, the teaching gesture, while the left hand rests in the lap holding a small covered vessel. The robe is densely engraved with fine diamond lattice, floral, and scrollwork patterns that cover the shoulders and drape in soft folds over the crossed legs, with the contrasting light and dark tones giving real depth to the carving. The face is calm and composed, framed by elongated earlobes and topped with a pointed ushnisha finial. The figure sits on a tiered oval base, its wide lower tier ringed with a carved lotus petal band and the upper tier finished with a beaded edge. The aged, richly worked surface gives this piece an heirloom quality suited to devotional spaces or statement decor.

Care Instructions

Clean only with a soft, dry cloth to maintain the natural shine. Avoid water, harsh chemicals, or detergents, as these can damage the brass finish.

Brass is a natural metal and may tarnish or darken slightly over time when exposed to air and moisture - this is a normal characteristic of brass and not a manufacturing defect. To restore shine, use a brass polish or a mild solution of lemon and salt, gently rub with a soft cloth, then wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity to help prevent tarnishing.

Please note that as all the products are handmade, slight variation in carvings, dimensions, and weight is normal. Variations of +/- 0.1-1 inches in dimensions and +/- 0.1-2 kgs in weight can be expected in some cases.
